After spending all the time researching cross-border customs, etc., the Commander-in-Chief has decided that Quebec at the end of March may not be where she wants us to do a weekend getaway with the kids. We’re based out of DC. Any suggestions for a good place to go within 2.5-3.5 MU-2 hours of DC??

Key West? Disney?
I'm in St. Louis and we have some cool stuff. If your kids are old
enough to have a good self-preservation instinct the City Museum
(http://citymuseum.org/site/?cat=3) is the craziest thing you've ever
seen. Imagine a kids museum built by Willy Wonka. Good zoo and
science museum as well.

Destin FL is a nice weekender. Airport has just reopened. Good beaches, and you might miss Spring Break by going later in March.
The US Government owns all the airspace in the vicinity, but that’s what you’re used to!

Savannah is one of my favorite cities. Not sure what activities there are for the kids but it is a beautiful southern city. Charleston, SC too.

If the kids like swimming and the beach I'd vote for Kiawah (JZI) or Sea Island (SSI). Nice golf in both places also, but that's not usually a kids activity .

Hi .
you do not get decent beach weather this time of year unless you are south of Palm Beach, Fl...north of Palm Beach is unreliable...
there is in central Florida (just west of Sebastian) a very nice fly in (airport of property) family dude ranch with weekly rodeo, night time fire marsh mellow roast, fishing, swimming, sheet shooting etc... it is a 45 to 60 min drive to the ocean / beach...look at www.wgriverranch.com
