I was at BUU at the end of February. Nice airport. Self serve jet A $3.50/gal! No other services off hours. Flew in there a number of times (meetings, lunch, etc.) the three years I was stationed in Chicago. The runway is not pristine, but it is also not in bad shape...it is in similar shape to many of the runways in Florida (macadam). Had no issues taking my Mooney M20K in there (which has serious potential issues with rough runways) and I did see King Airs and a couple of small jets in there as well.

They have a golf cart/shuttle that will run you up to the main lodge or you can just walk it (it is uphill from the airport and about a 15 minute walk). My wife loved the spa there and the dining is good.

If you end up going to that side of the lake, check out BUU (Burlington, WI). Small, city-owned airport and their self-serve 100LL and Jet-A were generally the cheapest around for IL, WI and MN...
