Don't ever squawk 1200 in the SFRA. Be sure to complete dc FAA course.

[quote]DC is a tough one. I think everything considered, Manassas (KHEF) is your best bet. FYI, DCA is not an option. Through colt or UVair, fuel is around $4.50/gal. I fly into APP regularly and they handle MU-2's regularly. Time your arrival/departure carefully, traffic can be terrible.

I go frequently for NBAA board meetings. In fact I have one next week. I always fly into HEF (Manassas). There are two FBO’s, APP Jet Center and Dulles Aviation. Both are good and have contract fuel. The last time I went if I remember correctly, it was about $5.00/gal. I rent a car and as long as you avoid rush hour, it is about a one hour drive into Washington. If you go into the city early in the morning, or leave Washington anytime from about 3:30-8:00pm it is an awful drive. You can also take a train as the station is near the airport and they will drive you to it.

In have need to be in downtown DC later on this month …
With $9/gallon fuel prices as DCA and IAD … out of the question …
I would appreciate some feedback from those who frequent the area … which of the surrounding airports provide good fuel prices, access to DC, ease of access into the DC TCA , etc …
Your recommendations are appreciated …
Thanks …. Rocky
